ABOUT ABOUT

The Museum’s Homeschool Day engages homeschoolers ages 6 and up in a multidisciplinary exploration of the Museum’s collections. The session includes an interactive gallery tour and creative arts activities.

Program description:

Textile Transformations: In this interactive museum visit students will explore how artists transform textiles or depict the transformative power of textiles. Students will explore works from the permanent collection that represent a variety of materials and techniques, including painting, woodcarving, weaving, embroidery, and metalwork. Following the gallery tour, students will work with Museum Educators on a textile-based project to create an artwork that expresses the theme of transformation.

Please sign up for one of two sessions: 9:30-11am (ages 6-12) or 11:30am-1pm (ages 12+)

Caregivers are welcome but not required to participate alongside their students.

Price for accompanying adults includes admission to visit the Museum galleries while students are in session.
