Diane Cole Ahl: Pictures at an Exhibition: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Heaven to Earth
The Consulting Curator of Of Heaven and Earth will highlight some of the magnificent works in the exhibition, pointing out the transformation of subject and style in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and concluding with nineteenth-century themes that reflected dramatic political and cultural changes in Italy.
Diane Cole Ahl is the Arthur J. ’55 and Barbara S. Rothkopf Professor of Art History at Lafayette College and a specialist in Italian Renaissance painting. She has recently served as the Ackerman Scholar in Residence at the American Academy in Rome.
